My name is Dave Cook. I have worked in the motor industry for my entire professional life, and before that, I grew up immersed in it alongside my dad, Derek. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience across all areas and levels of the industry. More importantly, I’ve seen first-hand how modern car sales have evolved - and how that evolution has increasingly worked against the customer.

Today’s dealerships are impressive spaces, often holding millions of pounds worth of stock. That stock must be sold quickly to avoid significant financing and depreciation costs. As a result, sales processes are frequently designed to push customers towards vehicles the dealer already owns—too often regardless of whether they are truly the right choice. Added to this is the pressure on staff to protect margins and sell additional products.

DC Cook takes a different approach.

By holding minimal stock, I remove the pressure to sell a car and focus instead on helping you buy the right car. With lower overheads and minimal margins, I can take the time to listen—to understand your needs, preferences, lifestyle, budget, and priorities. From there, I provide clear, honest advice on the options that genuinely suit you.

Once we’ve agreed on the ideal vehicle, I search the entire UK market to find the best possible example available.
